I TRIED A FULL BODY MASSAGE AT ODARA WOMEN'S SPA

Hey guys :)

So I have been on the hunt for a ladies only spa for what feels like years! I spend most of my day either filming or at my desk editing so I was desperately in need of a massage. Something to help me relax and de-stress without having to worry about work. I'm one of those people who plan out their entire day when they're in the shower from thinking about emails to scripting videos in my head. I'm a bit of a work-a-holic so when I was invited to visit ODARA Sanctuary and Wellbeing Spa I was super excited! Finally I had found a place where I could go to relax by myself or with my girls without having to worry about wearing my hijab or being accidentally being walked in on. 

 ODARA is a Birmingham based health club and spa that offers a wide variety of services from massages, facials and hammam to advice and support for women. So there's a little bit of everything for everyone! On the day I was invited I opted for a full body massage because your girl has been needing one since 2010 lol

Upon arrival I was asked to take a seat in the waiting room and fill in some forms, just some basics so they know about your health and the best way to help you. After that I was lead to the treatment room which was a nice and toasty candle lit room that smelt of soft essential oils. 

I have to admit I was a little nervous, I'd never had a full body massage before I had no idea what to do or what to expect! Luckily for me my masseuse was a lovely lady who made me feel very at ease, she gave me plenty of time to get dressed and used a draping method during the massage so I was never fully uncovered. The massage itself was amazing, I felt completely relaxed! And before I knew it the hour was over and I was getting changed. 

I made my way to the reception where they offered me some tea and told me about their journey in setting up ODARA, how they're always working to improve themselves so they can create the perfect safe space for women to relax and receive support. I think they're doing an amazing job and can't wait to see what they do next!

But yeah guys, that was my experience at ODARA! I had a wonderful time and honestly when I came home I pretty much just lay in bed and continued to relax. I thought I'd get some editing in but after such a blissful experience I just wanted to sleep lol. I think next time I'll go for a massage in the evening so I can jump straight into my bed after.
